Discover the diversity of research done within ILEE
The annual ILEE Research Day took place on Friday, 29th of march at the Quai 22.
Especially students and young researchers presented their research via oral and poster presentations to members of the institute. The general assembly of all members at the end of the day was an important one this year where the (re-)new (ed) steering committee and a freshly elected president were introduced.
We further had a special guest this year: Gregory Morlighem from Morlus - Nature expérience who took us on a trip into the savannah and proposed a model in which tourists become active players in biodiversity conservation.
50 participants enjoyed the talks, a walking lunch, poster session & local beer/wine at the end of the day.
This year's prices for the best presentations went to: Arunima Sikder (Biology) for her talk on "Adapting under pressure: how acclimation shapes phenotypes and population growth in changing environments" and Ines Sopbue Kamguem (Geography) for her flash talk about "Viral haemorrhagic fevers in Central Africa: A systematic review of the literature on spatial risk factors"
Photographs of the day were taken by Julie Hétru, PhD student in Biology!
