Aniruddha Chatterjee is the head of the Epigenetics, Disease and Phenotype laboratory. They use bioinformatics and experimental approaches to study epigenetic changes in different cellular contexts to achieve a better understanding of the mechanism of disease in cancer. They aim to use these discoveries to develop biomarkers for specific disease states. Dr Chatterjee's work has provided first DNA methylation maps of many cell types and organisms. Aberrant epigenetic and gene expression patterns could be identified in various tumour types as well as new epigenetic regulatory mechanisms in cancer cells.
