Their extreme resistance, investigated in the RISE (Rotifer In SpacE - ESA) project, is put to the test this time: they were irradiated at LEGE-LARN, UNamur before their departure! Objective of this Rob2 mission is to investigate through ground-based experiments and space flight whether microgravity and cosmic radiation has an impact on the DNA repair processes of living organisms using the bdelloid rotifer Adineta vaga as model system.

The RISE project is a cooperation of the teams LEGE & LARN of UNamur with the participation of many ambitious people! Thanks to Boris Hespeels, Victoria Moris, Jérémy Berthe, Lucie Bruneau, Karine Van Doninck, Richard Coos, Margot Cardinal, Tijani Tabarrant, Stéphane Lucas, Anne-Catherine Heuskin for this excellent collaboration!
