Optimizing the adaptability of salmon juveniles for restocking program in the Mosan Basin.
Restoration of wild Atlantic salmon populations is under intense investigation to counteract its worldwide decline. Through different experiments on salmon eggs and fry, our FEAMP project aims at identifying the optimal rearing conditions in hatchery to obtain the fry that is most suitable for a wild environment. For this purpose, we studied the influence of different incubation conditions on salmon fry fitness during eyed-egg-to-fry development. In addition, nutritive (lipid content, fatty acid composition, living prey) and physical (flow in the tank, fish density, turbidity) parameters were evaluated on emerging fry.

Diane Delangre (History, PolleN; team of Isabelle Parmentier)
Bouquet cartographique wallon
An impressive collection of historical maps of today’s Walloon region ranging from prehistorical ages until today. A large variety of topics can be discovered, such as agriculture, forest management and natural reserves. The aim is to render these highly useful documents visible and available for researchers and teachers (higher, academic and non-academic education). Direct access is possible with the help of a viewer and pdf-versions can be downloaded. New cartographic material will be added continuously.
